Experts urge travelers to visit Albania now
Albania has been ranked by French magazine Quartz among the world’s most promising destinations that, according to travel experts, should be visited before they experience the full impact of mass tourism.
According to the article, Albania has attracted significant attention in recent years thanks to its combination of Adriatic and Ionian coastlines, impressive mountain landscapes, and lower travel costs compared to other Mediterranean destinations, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Tourism experts note that the beaches of the Albanian Riviera are comparable to Italy’s Amalfi Coast, but without the overcrowding that now characterizes many well-known European destinations.
Stretching from Saranda to the Greek border, the Riviera offers crystal-clear waters, sandy and pebble beaches, and picturesque villages perched on rocky shores.
The magazine also highlights Albania’s mountain tourism potential, particularly in Theth and the Albanian Alps.
According to Quartz, hiking trails and traditional stone architecture create an experience comparable to some of Europe’s most famous mountain ranges, but with far fewer visitors.
Albanian gastronomy also receives special recognition.
Fresh seafood, traditional raki, and dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients are considered part of an authentic experience that has largely preserved its local character.
Despite significant improvements in tourism infrastructure in recent years, Albania continues to maintain its original atmosphere and renowned hospitality.
The list of destinations recommended for travelers to visit before they become overly crowded also includes Italy, Mexico, Montenegro, Laos, Bhutan, Slovenia, Canada, Greece, and Uganda.
Experts emphasize that these countries are currently in a stage of development where their authenticity remains largely intact, although this could change as tourism continues to grow in the coming years.
