Greece, Iceland expand travel options for passengers
AEGEAN and Icelandair have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU) for a codeshare agreement aimed at strengthening connectivity between Greece and Iceland and expanding travel options for passengers.
Under the agreement, passengers will be able to travel across AEGEAN and Icelandair networks with a single booking and enjoy a seamless travel experience, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
Icelandair passengers will gain access to destinations throughout Greece, while AEGEAN passengers will be able to travel to Iceland. Details on specific routes will be announced at a later stage.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 82nd Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), held in Rio de Janeiro.
AEGEAN Deputy CEO Michalis Kouveliotis said the partnership creates new connectivity opportunities between Greece and Iceland, expanding travel choices for passengers of both airlines and enabling access to more destinations through seamless connections.
Icelandair President and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason said the strategic cooperation with AEGEAN opens new opportunities for passengers traveling between Greece and Iceland, adding that the company looks forward to providing a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
The agreement is part of AEGEAN’s broader strategy to continuously enhance its network connectivity and expand its presence in markets with growing tourism demand.
