Bulgaria, Qatar discuss expanding tourism cooperation

Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov and Qatar Ambassador to Bulgaria Fahad Ibrahim Ali Al-Mushiri discussed at a meeting on Wednesday prospects of new contacts between tour operators, enhanced representation of Bulgaria before Qatar audience and partnerships in tourism and hospitality education programmes, the Ministry’s press centre said.

Dimitrov proposed B2B meetings to be organized and Qatar tour operators to attend touristic exhibitions in Bulgaria. Visits by influencers and travel bloggers were considered as means to introduce vacation opportunities in Bulgaria to Qatar audiences, CE Report quotes BTA.

An initiative to establish union of universities preparing employees in the tourism branch was presented. The establishment is planned to take place on September 27, World Tourism Day and aims to encourage the exchange of students, lecturers and managers.

The Ambassador said that Bulgaria is an attractive and varied travel destination. He stressed the necessity more tourist information to be translated in Arab as Qatar tourists travel often and show interest to weekend trips.

Dimitrov proposed renewing the cooperation memorandum between both countries in the tourism sector.
