ATA opens exhibition on history of Albanian news
“ATA – A Journey Through the History of Albanian News” is the exhibition inaugurated by the Albanian Telegraphic Agency in cooperation with the General Directorate of Archives.
Coinciding with Europe Day, the exhibition brought together journalists, media professionals, state officials, Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu, as well as representatives of media organizations at the premises of Tirana Castle, CE Report quotes ATA.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore photographs documenting Albania’s early news transmission halls from the 1920s, radio stations and the evolution toward today’s digital technologies, making the exhibition a reflection of the close connection between information, technological development and the political and social transformations of different eras.
Through a rich collection of archival materials, the exhibition highlights ATA’s central role in documenting and disseminating information over the decades, tracing the development of news reporting both as a professional practice and as a communication bridge between the state, the media and the public.
The exhibition opening at Tirana Castle also attracted the attention of numerous foreign tourists currently visiting the capital throughout the year. Many expressed interest in learning more about Albania’s media history and the significant developments showcased through the archival photographs of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency.
