Ukraine wins bronze at rowing World Cup in Bulgaria

A stage of the World Rowing Cup took place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

On the final day of the competition, the Ukrainian quadruple sculls team—comprising Oleksandr Bahlaia, Yurii Ivanov, Artem Verestiuk, and Ivan Dovhodko—took the podium, winning the bronze medal, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

In the final, the Ukrainians covered the 2,000-meter distance in 5 minutes and 47.33 seconds, finishing 6.33 seconds behind the race winners from Italy. Second place and the silver medals went to the Chinese crew.

As reported, the day before, 36-year-old Kyiv native Ihor Khmara secured his first victory of the 2026 season, winning gold in the lightweight single sculls.
