Ariana Grande slams White House over TikTok video
Pop star Ariana Grande on Thursday asked the administration of President Donald Trump to stop using her music to promote its policies, according to Reuters.
The singer made the comment after the White House shared a TikTok video earlier this week about its immigration policy. The video showed federal agents arresting and handcuffing people while Grande’s 2024 song “Bye” played in the background, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.
“Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” Grande wrote in a comment on the White House’s TikTok post.
According to a source close to the singer, her team is working to have the song removed from the video as soon as possible.
Responding to Grande’s criticism, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson said:
“We’ll say this one last time: what is actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are criminal illegal immigrants who have injured and killed innocent American citizens.”
Grande, a singer and Oscar-nominated actress, also criticized the Trump administration last year by posting a message on Instagram asking Trump voters whether their lives had improved since his return to the White House.
Trump, now serving his second non-consecutive term, maintains a strong presence on social media. Members of his communications team frequently post short videos using popular songs to highlight the president’s efforts to fulfill campaign promises. Some of these videos focus on immigration crackdowns, U.S. military operations against Iran, and the arrest of former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro.
