Trump asks Israel not to target Iran's oil sites
Donald Trump, President of the United States, reportedly asked Israel not to further target Iran’s oil facilities.
According to a report by Israel’s Channel 12 (Israel), citing unnamed sources, the Trump administration requested on Monday, March 9 that Israel refrain from striking Iran’s energy infrastructure, particularly oil facilities.
Channel 12 had earlier reported on Saturday, March 7, that the Israeli military bombed fuel depots and oil facilities in Tehran, the capital of Iran, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
Israel’s public broadcaster KAN (Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation) also reported that Israeli warplanes had attacked oil tanks and refinery facilities in Tehran for the first time.

Iran responded with attacks on targets in Israel as well as in several regional countries hosting US military bases, including Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
During the US–Israel strikes, Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, along with several senior officials, was reportedly killed.
According to Iranian authorities, 1,332 people were killed in the US–Israel attacks.
Trump announces new oil refinery in Texas
Trump also announced via his account on Truth Social that the United States has returned to what he called “true energy dominance.”
He stated that America First Refining will open the first new oil refinery in the US in 50 years in Brownsville, Texas.
“This is a historic $300 billion deal. The largest in US history — a massive win for American workers, the energy sector, and the great people of South Texas,” Trump said.
Trump also thanked partners in India and the country’s largest private energy company Reliance Industries for the investment.
Referring to his “America First” agenda, Trump said simplified permits and lower taxes had helped attract billions of dollars in investment back to the US.
He added that the new refinery will supply fuel to the US market, strengthen national security, increase American energy production, and create billions of dollars in economic impact.
Trump also claimed the refinery would be “the cleanest refinery in the world,” boosting global exports and bringing thousands of jobs and long-awaited growth to the region.
