Nvidia forms Open Secure AI Alliance with tech industry leaders

U.S.-based chipmaker Nvidia has announced the launch of a new alliance aimed at developing and sharing open tools to promote the responsible use of artificial intelligence and strengthen trust in the technology.

In a statement, Nvidia said the Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAIA) will focus on identifying, addressing, and disclosing security vulnerabilities through the use of open technologies, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

The company noted that the recent Hugging Face security breach highlighted the need for cybersecurity defenders to have access to advanced open AI systems that can be deployed within their own infrastructure. It added that it is essential for companies and countries to have access to open, advanced defensive tools.

According to Nvidia, the alliance's primary goal is to ensure that cybersecurity professionals around the world have access to open and advanced AI tools that they can trust and control.

The company said the alliance brings together organizations from the fields of cloud computing, cybersecurity, enterprise software, open-source foundations, and artificial intelligence research.

The founding partners include Adobe, Cadence, Capital One, Cisco, Cloudera, Cloudflare, Cognition, CrowdStrike, Databricks, Dell Technologies, DoorDash, Elastic, HPE, Hugging Face, IBM, LangChain, Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NAVER, NetApp, Nous Research, OpenClaw, Palantir, Palo Alto Networks, Red Hat, Reflection AI, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, Siemens, SK Telecom, Snowflake, SpaceXAI, Synopsys, Thinking Machines Lab, and TrendAI.

Notably, leading AI companies OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google were not included among the alliance's announced founding partners.
