Sam Altman, CEO of US-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI, has said that AI systems have become more intelligent than most scientists, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

"At the beginning of this year, AI was not as smart as our smartest scientists. But now it is smarter than most of them," Altman said.

Altman made the remarks about the development of artificial intelligence during an event he attended in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Highlighting how much AI has advanced since the beginning of the year, Altman emphasised the rapid progress made by the technology.

He said that AI previously struggled to perform tasks carried out by white-collar professionals but can now handle most of them.

"I think we will manage this situation quite well," he added.

Altman argued that these technological advances would change the way people think about many aspects of life.

"Although it may seem extremely disruptive to the economy, and people are nervous about it, I believe we will be able to manage the transition. We will adapt our jobs to these developments," he said.
