Elon Musk says Grok's running costs outpace revenue

US billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk said that the operating costs of the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok were “unsustainably high” compared with the revenue it generated.

A user posting on the US-based social media platform X complained that many subscribers were reaching their weekly usage limits for Grok, the AI chatbot developed by Musk's company xAI, much faster than usual, and called for their usage allowances to be reset, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Responding to the post, Musk said: “The cost of running Grok bot was unsustainably high relative to revenue.”

Grok, an artificial intelligence chatbot capable of performing multi-step tasks, is available through several paid subscription plans.
