As part of the national program “Read Me 100 Stories”, Minister of Culture of Moldova Cristian Jardan participated in a reading event for children at Floricica Kindergarten.

The minister read stories alongside the director of the Ion Creangă National Library for Children, Eugenia Bejan. The stories were positive, educational, and aimed at fostering a healthy relationship with reading, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

“I liked that the stories were positive, friendly, with happy endings and important messages for children’s emotional development and for cultivating a healthy relationship with reading. Through this program, reading spaces are created and books are provided so that every child has access to quality stories,” said Cristian Jardan.

The national program “Read Me 100 Stories” is an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Research, implemented in partnership with UNICEF Moldova, OvidiuRo Association, and the Ion Creangă National Library for Children. The project aims to promote reading among preschool and early school-age children by creating reading spaces in educational institutions and distributing quality books.

The program includes interactive reading sessions, educational activities, and events designed to develop children’s comprehension, critical thinking, and empathy skills. This year, the program was complemented by the National Book Trailer Contest, an innovative project involving 477 students from across the country to promote books and reading through engaging digital formats.
