Epstein Paris raid uncovered evidence in prostitution network involving underage girls

French journalists reported that during a 2019 search of the Paris home of Jeffrey Epstein—who was found dead in prison while awaiting trial in the United States on charges of running a prostitution network involving underage girls—materials that could be considered criminal evidence were discovered.

On the Complément d’enquête broadcast on France 2, new information from an investigation by French journalists into the American billionaire was shared with the public, following global attention surrounding newly released Epstein documents that include the names of numerous politicians and business figures, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Journalists stated that a police search was carried out in 2019 at Epstein’s residence in Paris, where he regularly stayed, and that two computers and a CD-ROM seized during the search contained potentially incriminating material.

They reported that one file titled “Secret table (complete)” contained the names of 62 women listed alphabetically. The file also included personal information and different categorizations.

One classification was labeled “age at the time,” indicating whether the victims were minors. The journalists also noted that the women were categorized based on the types of sexual abuse they suffered.

In January, the United States Department of Justice released new documents related to Epstein, which caused widespread reaction as they included names from politics and business circles.

The Epstein case

Epstein, who was accused of sexually abusing dozens of girls under the age of 18—some as young as 14—and of operating a prostitution network, was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019, at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.

Documents from the case mentioned well-known figures such as Prince Andrew, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, Al Gore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson, David Copperfield, Alan Dershowitz, and Bill Richardson.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), after reviewing the case together with the Justice Department, stated that it found no evidence of a so-called “client list” of famous individuals. It also concluded that Epstein was not murdered to cover up crimes involving public officials, celebrities, or businesspeople, but died by suicide in his cell.
