During takeoff at an airport in Moldova, a drone nearly struck the plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he was en route to Oslo for the funeral of the King of Norway.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre reported this on Wednesday during an appearance on the public television channel NRK, according to Reuters, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

“His plane was nearly struck by a drone as he was about to fly out of Moldova. That’s the reality he faces,” Støre said.

Norwegian PM did not disclose the source of this information or how close the drone had come.

On Wednesday, Zelensky attended the funeral of King Harald V of Norway, walking behind the coffin alongside other heads of state in central Oslo. He left Norway immediately after the funeral concluded.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky, together with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, met with the heads of defense companies from partner countries.
