Tusk calls for greater air support for Ukraine

Russia's escalation is continuing, and Ukraine therefore needs greater air support. The next six months could be decisive for the situation in the region.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made the statement on the social media platform X following a conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"Mark Rutte has just shared with me his assessment of the situation in the region and on the Ukrainian-Russian front. As I have been warning, the escalation from Russia's side is progressing. Ukraine needs greater air support, which is also crucial for our security. This is a task for all of Europe. The next six months will be decisive, and we must be prepared as Poland and NATO for various scenarios," Tusk wrote.

At the same time, he stressed that possible Russian provocations against one of the NATO member states cannot be ruled out.

As reported, Tusk said the previous day that there were signs that Russia was seriously preparing for an escalation of tensions, and that the next seven to eight months could be critical for the security of Ukraine, Poland and the entire region.
