NATO to allow Ukraine to purchase military equipment through procurement agency

NATO will allow Ukraine to purchase weapons, ammunition and military equipment through the Alliance’s centralized procurement agency, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The arrangement will give Ukraine access to the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), providing a more structured framework for acquiring military supplies and equipment.

“This ensures that Ukraine has the ability to establish a more structured framework to take advantage of the wide range of capabilities we offer, including procurement expertise, support services and access to a strong industrial base,” Jacqueline Borsboom, NSPA’s Director of Operations Support, told the Financial Times.

The decision comes amid reported tensions between Kyiv and Washington.

According to the report, relations deteriorated after US President Donald Trump announced plans earlier this month to import diesel from Russia in an effort to reduce fuel prices in the United States.
