Miss Austria dies at 22

According to local reports, Lucia Sisic, the reigning Miss Austria, has died at the age of 22.

The cause of death has not yet been disclosed, although speculation suggests it may have been related to a health condition.

According to Austrian media outlets Die Presse, Oe24 and Kronen Zeitung, Sisic was born with a heart valve defect and underwent several surgeries over the years. She had her most recent heart procedure during the winter, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Mission Austria, the organization responsible for selecting the winners of the Miss and Mister Austria titles, was among the first to pay tribute to Sisic on social media.

“It is with great shock and deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Miss Austria 2024, Lucia Sisic. We will remember Lucia as a wonderful young woman. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with her family, friends and everyone close to her during this difficult time,” Mission Austria said in a message posted on Facebook.

Sisic was crowned Miss Austria in 2024 and was still holding the title, as no further competitions had been held since then, People reported.
