Billie Eilish makes acting debut in ‘The Bell Jar’ film adaptation

Filming has wrapped on the screen adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s classic novel “The Bell Jar,” starring Billie Eilish and Carey Mulligan.

According to Deadline, the cast also includes Danielle Deadwyler, Dylan Hawco, Lili Taylor, Ella Beatty, Maggie Kuntz, Ike Barinholtz and Connor Storrie, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.

“The Bell Jar” is the only novel by the American writer and poet. It is a semi-autobiographical work depicting the mental breakdown of a young woman under the weight of social pressures.

Known for her distinctive musical sound and vocal style, she is a prominent figure in 2020s pop culture. Eilish's production style frequently uses harmony lines and vocal layering, an extension of double tracking.

Eilish first gained public attention in 2015 with her debut single, "Ocean Eyes", which was written and produced by her brother, Finneas O'Connell. In 2017, she released her debut EP, Don't Smile at Me, which was commercially successful in various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
