Moldova and Israel Strengthen Bilateral Ties During Official Visit

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi welcomed Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Moshe Sa'ar to Chișinău, marking a significant step in Moldova-Israel relations. The visit, highlighted by a joint conference, underscores the strong diplomatic and strategic ties between the two nations, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Popșoi emphasized the visit's historical importance, stating it represents a new chapter in bilateral dialogue and cooperation. Sa'ar noted the symbolism of the occasion, expressing pride that the first embassy he opens as foreign minister is the Israeli Embassy in Moldova.

Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in key sectors, including economy, technology, agriculture, and renewable energy. Both sides expressed interest in joint projects on solar energy and energy efficiency to diversify Moldova's energy sources. They also welcomed the relaunch of the Moldovan-Israeli Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, aimed at driving bilateral projects forward.

Further cooperation in education and healthcare was discussed, emphasizing academic exchanges and professional training. Additionally, the ministers agreed to organize cultural events and research projects on Jewish community history to foster intercultural dialogue.

This visit solidifies Moldova and Israel’s commitment to strengthening their partnership and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth.
