US ambassador signals possible Trump trip to Greece
The U.S. ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, visited ERT as part of a courtesy visit with strong symbolic significance, during a period of heightened geopolitical developments.
The ambassador was received at the radio and television headquarters by ERT President Giannis Papadopoulos, and she also had the opportunity to speak with executives and employees of the public broadcaster.
She was warmly welcomed by ERT CEO Konstantinos Papavasileiou as well as the organization’s management team, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
On the sidelines of the visit, the ambassador made statements saying she hopes that Donald Trump will visit Greece by the end of the year, although no specific timeline has been set.
“As for whether he is coming this summer, I cannot say; many things are happening, but he is going to come to Greece,” she said.
The ambassador added that visits by senior U.S. officials are also expected, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as part of the strategic dialogue.
