Serbia elections: Student-led List defeats Vučić’s party
Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat in Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections.
He said his Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) had secured 105 seats in parliament, while the student-led movement won between 135 and 140 seats, according to figures available to the former Serbian president, CE Report quotes HINA.
“We don't have the results yet. Many will be surprised, and you will realize how much some people have lied. Based on a multi-layered sample, it is clear that we have lost these elections,” Vučić said.
“The student-led list has won,” he added.
According to SNS officials, the student-led list received 2.2 million votes, while Vučić’s party secured 1.72 million.
Vučić announced that SNS would continue its political activities in opposition.
