Head of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Brian Aggeler, warned of a high level of mistrust in public institutions, especially the police, due to data showing that victims of domestic violence hesitate to file a report against the perpetrators.

Speaking about the increased number of cases of domestic violence, Aggeler expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic murders in Gradačac and Živinice in an interview with FENA, stating that he was deeply saddened by the brutality and horror of those crimes.

"It is so unfortunate that it often takes terrible events like these to shake us and ignite discussions and action, even though for years numerous studies have presented alarming findings regarding this issue," he reminded.
