The National Crisis Management Center (CNMC) announces that crashed drones have been identified in the immediate vicinity of the Isaccea–Vulcănești power line, which was affected following attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

According to the institution, the situation requires access restrictions for technical teams and the need to carry out demining operations in order to allow interventions under conditions of maximum safety. The exact duration of the work can only be estimated after these operations are completed, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

In parallel, teams from the transmission system operators of the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine are conducting coordinated technical inspections. At the same time, Moldelectrica, in cooperation with regional partners, has activated alternative supply routes, including 110 kV interconnection lines, to maintain the stability of the power system.

CNMC notes that its platform operates as a central coordination point between national institutions, facilitating rapid information exchange and synchronization of actions at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.

The authorities assure that field teams are making every effort to repair the fault and restore the normal functioning of the energy infrastructure, emphasizing that the safety of citizens and of the staff involved in the interventions remains a priority.

The Republic of Moldova may enter a state of emergency in the energy sector for a period of 60 days, after the Isaccea–Vulcănești power line was disconnected last night following attacks on energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine.
