Austrian delegation reviews development projects during Moldova visit

A delegation of members of parliament from the foreign policy committees of the National Council and the Federal Council of the Parliament of Austria is paying an official visit to Moldova from May 25 to 27.

During the visit, the Austrian lawmakers will hold meetings with President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, and Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

At Parliament, discussions are scheduled with Deputy Speaker and Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee Doina Gherman, Chair of the European Integration Committee Marcel Spatari, and members of these committees.

The talks will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly parliamentary cooperation and projects implemented in Moldova with Austrian support.

Following the discussions, the three chairwomen of the foreign policy committees — Doina Gherman, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee of Austria’s National Council Petra Bayr, as well as Vice President of Austria’s Federal Council and Chair of its Foreign Policy Committee Christine Schwarz-Fuchs — will deliver press statements on May 26 at 4:50 p.m.

The Austrian lawmakers will also visit several projects in the Strășeni District implemented with the support of Austrian development cooperation in partnership with the European Union.

They will attend the inauguration of a water treatment station in the village of Gălești and visit water supply projects in the village of Căpriana and at the Căpriana Monastery.

The delegation will also visit the Ștefan Neaga Center of Excellence in Artistic Education and the Austrian School in Chișinău.

Austria’s Parliament operates separate foreign policy committees in each of its two parliamentary chambers, with complementary responsibilities.
