The Serbian company NIS has submitted a request for a new special license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury in order to allow it to continue uninterrupted operations after June 16, when the current license issued in April expires.

In its request, the company emphasizes the importance of NIS’s regular operations for the stable supply of the domestic market, especially in light of conditions on the global oil market, CE Report informs via the NIS’s official website.

It also points to advanced negotiations regarding changes in NIS’s ownership structure, for which OFAC has extended the license several times.

NIS expressed gratitude to all domestic and international institutions supporting efforts to ensure the company’s uninterrupted operation and thereby contribute to the energy stability of the Republic of Serbia.
