Bulgaria joins leaders at Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris
Bulgaria's Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov will be among the participants in the second Nuclear Energy Summit in Paris on Tuesday, the government press service announced.
The aim of the event is to strengthen international cooperation on the development of safe nuclear energy for civilian purposes amid growing electricity demand, the need to transition to a low-carbon economy, and efforts to achieve energy sovereignty, CE Report quotes BTA.
As part of the forum, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Gurov will also take part in a meeting of European leaders where the European approach to nuclear energy and the electricity transmission network will be discussed.
Prime Minister Gurov will be accompanied by caretaker Minister of Energy Traicho Traykov.
At the first Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, several countries advocated for nuclear power to be recognized as a key element in the transition to clean and secure energy systems.
