The Teatrul Fără Nume will be modernized through a cross-border project funded by the Interreg NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova 2021–2027 Program, which includes the renovation of the façade and the implementation of solutions to improve energy efficiency.

During a visit to the institution, Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan praised the team’s work and the theater’s contribution to the country’s cultural life, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

“Teatrul Fără Nume is an example of a dynamic and modern cultural institution that, in recent years, has managed to develop at a steady and sustainable pace. During my visit, I toured the building, which features modern spaces, good working conditions for actors, and energy-efficient solutions in practice. The photovoltaic panel system installed on the roof fully meets the theater’s electricity needs, with a small surplus fed back into the grid. The institution is part of a cross-border project through which the building’s façade will be renovated and solutions will be implemented to further increase energy efficiency,” said Cristian Jardan.

The minister also highlighted the work of the theater team.

“The greatest value of the theater is its collective of actors and technicians. I saw a young, ambitious, and motivated team. We will continue to support them. I also had an open discussion with the theater administration about its plans and the support that the Ministry of Culture can provide,” Jardan added.

Teatrul Fără Nume was founded in 1989 by Ion Sandri Șcurea as the Republican Theater for Children and Youth. Over time, it has had several important directors and producers and staged musical and revue performances for both children and adults. In 2018, the theater was renamed Teatrul Fără Nume and became part of the Ginta Latină Center for Culture and Arts under chief director Mihai Țărnă, who promotes the concept of allowing the audience to “be nameless” during performances. Since 2020, Nicu Țărnă has led the Ginta Latină Center for Culture and Arts.
