
Hollywood comes to Italy
World premieres, Oscar-winning directors, behind-the-scenes of animation and VFX from the most beloved films and series, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Hollywood is coming to Turin from October 12 to 17 for the new edition of 'View Conference', taking place at OGR Torino (the hub of Fondazione CRT) and other venues across the city, such as Piazza dei Mestieri and Cinema Massimo.
“We’ve reached our 26th edition and we’re stronger than ever,” said Maria Elena Gutierrez, director of View Conference, during the event's presentation at the Piedmont Region headquarters.
“It’s an honor to welcome over 150 award-winning speakers, inviting them to share their expertise.”
View Conference is “one of the most important events on the Italian scene,” said Piedmont Region President
Alberto Cirio in a video message from Osaka, “and it strengthens the close bond between our city, Piedmont, and the world of cinema.”
Special Guests Include:
Domee Shi, Oscar-winning director for Pixar’s Bao
Doug Chiang, Oscar winner for Forrest Gump and design supervisor for Star Wars
Hal Hickel, Oscar winner for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
Ian Hunter, two-time Oscar winner for Interstellar and First Man
Premieres and Previews:
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation will preview The Cat in the Hat, presented by director Alessandro Carloni
In Your Dreams – an upcoming animated film from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation
Avatar: The Last Airbender – Fire and Ash, a new sci-fi film coming to Italian cinemas December 17, presented in preview by Oscar-nominated production designer Dylan Cole
Disney and Pixar will showcase Elio, directed by Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi
VFX Highlights:
Industrial Light & Magic will present two BAFTA winners:
David Vickery, on Jurassic World: Rebirth (Universal Pictures)
Craig Hammack, on Disney’s Lilo & Stitch live-action adaptation
Visual effects from The Penguin series, fresh off nine Emmy Awards, will also be featured.
