Bulgarian Film Festival kicks off in Rome

The Bulgarian Film Festival in Rome kicks off on Friday with a screening of Yana Titova’s film Brunch for Beginners, according to the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Rome, which is supporting the festival.

The three-day programme will feature five contemporary Bulgarian films exploring a range of themes related to Bulgaria, its history, social changes, and national identities, CE Report quotes BTA.

On September 19 at 6:00 p.m., audiences will watch Sylvie Vartan: From Love by Georgi Toshev, followed by Wild Strawberries by Tatiana Pandurska.

The festival continues on September 20 with Life, Scary and Yet Very Beautiful by Ralitsa Dimitrova and 3.0 Kilograms of Happiness by Zornitsa Sofia.

Organizers describe the festival as an opportunity to present contemporary Bulgarian cinema to audiences in Rome and highlight the diversity of stories and perspectives emerging from Bulgaria’s film industry.
