Photonics Experts Gather in Sofia for CATP'25

The 2nd Conference on Advanced Topics in Photonics (CATP'25) was held at the UNITe Centre of Excellence at Sofia University, focusing on the latest challenges and advancements in photonics and laser physics, the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria (UPB) announced on Friday, CE Report quotes BTA

More than 55 experts from Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, the US, and Australia presented research on nonlinear optics, quantum optics, metamaterials, and more. Keynote speaker Allen Weeks, General Manager of the Extreme Light Infrastructure consortium, highlighted cutting-edge developments in the field.

The event also spotlighted young scientists through a dedicated poster session, encouraging early-career researchers to present their work.

The conference was supported by the “SUMMIT” project under Bulgaria’s Recovery and Resilience Plan, aimed at boosting innovation and technology transfer.
