Türkiye is emerging as a “major tourism powerhouse” and a vital global travel hub, said Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), in an interview with Anadolu, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

“Türkiye is like the world — it’s the bridge between Asia and Europe,” he said, praising its rich culture, history, and strong appeal for both leisure and business travelers. Istanbul, in particular, stands out as a top destination, with its vast hotel offerings, diverse attractions, and strategic location.

Hamid highlighted the growing interest from Asian markets, especially Southeast and North Asia, as well as the Middle East and India. He pointed to Istanbul’s rise as a major aviation hub and the increasing number of full Turkish Airlines flights from Asia.

“Accessibility is key,” Hamid emphasized, calling Türkiye’s connectivity a crucial advantage for sustainable tourism growth. He also expressed admiration for the country’s architectural landmarks, multicultural diversity, and cuisine.

PATA will continue collaborating with Türkiye Tourism and Development Agency (TGA), a long-standing member, on future tourism initiatives.
