Croatia sees slight rise in tourist arrivals in July

Croatia welcomed 4.7 million tourists in July, who recorded 29.6 million overnight stays, representing increases of 2.5% and 1%, respectively, compared with July last year, the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) said.

Data from the eVisitor and eCrew systems, covering tourist activity in commercial and non-commercial accommodation facilities as well as nautical charter, show that 12.4 million tourists visited Croatia in the first seven months of the year, recording 59.1 million overnight stays, 1% more than in the same period last year, CE Report quotes HINA.

Of the total number of overnight stays, 56.1 million were recorded along the Adriatic coast, an increase of 0.5% compared with last year. Meanwhile, more than 3 million overnight stays were recorded in continental Croatia, including Zagreb, during the first seven months, up 1% year-on-year.

The HTZ said that the largest number of tourists in July came from Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. Among the counties, Istria, Split-Dalmatia County and Kvarner were the most popular, while the most visited destinations were Rovinj, Vir, Poreč, Medulin and Dubrovnik.
