Bulgaria promotes Pomorie in Bratislava
The tourism opportunities offered by the Bulgarian Black Sea town of Pomorie were presented to a Slovak audience as part of a series promoting Bulgarian tourist destinations, the Bulgarian Embassy in Slovakia said on its Facebook page.
Since the beginning of August, a promotional banner from Pomorie Municipality has been displayed on the renovated fence of the Bulgarian Embassy in Bratislava. The campaign highlights the town's beaches, mineral waters, natural attractions, culture and traditions, CE Report quotes BTA.
Located on a narrow rocky peninsula extending into the Black Sea, Pomorie is surrounded by the sea to the south, east and northeast, while Pomorie Lake lies to the north. Known in ancient times as Anchialos, the town traces its origins to the late 5th or 4th century BC. It is believed to have been founded by residents of Apollonia as a trading colony controlling the northern part of Burgas Bay.
The embassy also highlighted Pomorie's wine-making traditions and the use of healing mud from Pomorie Lake. The town offers opportunities for beach, spa and wellness tourism, as well as festivals and cultural events, family-run hotels and local wine experiences.
In 2013, Pomorie was recognized as a centre of balneological tourism and an innovative spa destination, the embassy said.
