Albania's Saranda wins over tourists with natural beauty, value for money
Saranda continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for domestic and foreign tourists during the summer season, attracting thousands of visitors each day who choose the Albanian Riviera for their holidays.
Its crystal-clear beaches, natural landscapes, rich culinary offerings and wide range of recreational activities have made the city one of the country’s most popular tourism hotspots, CE Report quotes ATA.
In addition to enjoying the beaches, visitors are increasingly exploring the region’s natural attractions, including the Blue Eye, Ksamil and Kakome Bay, as well as joining boat excursions along the Ionian coastline.
Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama shared on social media the impressions of foreign tourists who have visited Saranda during this tourist season.
The visitors praised the city, saying it had impressed them not only with its natural beauty, but also with its hospitality and the strong value for money offered by local services.
Raffaele, who is visiting Saranda with his girlfriend, said they had spent eight days in the seaside city and were extremely pleased with their stay.
“We have been here in Saranda for eight days with my girlfriend. It is a very beautiful city. We have visited many beaches, the water is truly amazing and the sea is very clean. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The people here are also very welcoming, especially towards tourists,” he said.
A young tourist from Germany also shared positive impressions, saying he had been in Saranda for three days and was planning to visit some of the south’s most popular attractions.
“So far, we have had a wonderful experience. We took a boat tour along the coast, with stops for swimming and other activities. The food here is very good and reasonably priced. We still have many plans for the days ahead, including a quad tour to the Blue Eye and several more boat excursions,” he said.
The rising popularity of Saranda is also boosting activity among tourism businesses, with hotels, restaurants and tour operators recording strong visitor flows throughout the summer season.
Beyond traditional beach holidays, more tourists are choosing organised experiences such as boat excursions, water activities and trips to the region’s cultural and natural attractions.
Saranda remains one of Albania’s leading tourism destinations, offering a blend of nature, history, gastronomy and hospitality — elements that, according to visitors themselves, make the city a place worth returning to.
