ISS Zvezda Module Leak Persists Despite June Repairs

Tech & Science

Long-term observations have shown that the leak in the interstitial chamber of the Zvezda module of the International Space Station, which was reportedly repaired in June, is still ongoing, although it has significantly slowed down.

This was stated by Sergey Krikalyov, Executive Director of Crewed Space Programs at Roscosmos and Special Envoy for International Space Cooperation, CE Report quotes ANSA.

“The leak is ongoing. We continue our efforts to locate and repair it, with recent interventions having significantly reduced the air leakage rate. For a while, we even thought we had found the last crack and sealed it, although long-term observations have shown the air leak continues.”
