North Macedonia's Rumble signs strategic deal with Anthropic?

Several specialized technology news outlets reported that Chris Pavlovski’s company Rumble (based in North Macedonia) has signed a $13.7 billion strategic agreement with Anthropic, one of the leading artificial intelligence companies.

According to information that has not yet been confirmed by either company, Anthropic will use Rumble’s growing data center capacity, primarily the large facility Rumble is building in the US state of Georgia, CE Report quotes MIA.

In late August, Rumble announced that it had secured a major new customer for its digital infrastructure, but did not disclose the customer’s name.

Anthropic, founded by AI executives Dario and Daniela Amodei, is one of the largest AI companies, alongside OpenAI, xAI, Google and Meta. Its Claude model is considered one of the most advanced AI models currently available for software development and other sophisticated services.

According to the announcement, Anthropic is seeking to meet part of the growing demand for Claude’s services by leasing capacity at Rumble’s data centers. Initially, the agreement is set to run for six years. Anthropic will also have the option to purchase 50 million shares of Rumble over the six-year period.

Rumble recently acquired the major German data center company Northern Data, which had begun construction of the Maysville data center in Georgia, where Anthropic has expressed interest. As a result, Rumble is increasingly transforming itself from the owner of a video platform popular among US conservatives and known for supporting free speech rights into a data center development company, with its facilities to be developed under the Quake AI brand.
