Türkiye brings public projects under one digital platform

Türkiye’s homegrown and national decision-support system ProjeM is coordinating the project, program, portfolio, budget and procurement processes of public institutions and large organizations under a single platform.

According to information, ProjeM, developed by TÜRKSAT as part of Türkiye’s digital transformation efforts, began being used in 2022 to bring institutions’ project, program and portfolio management needs together on a single platform, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

The platform aims to enable work, risks and resources managed separately by different units to be monitored from a single screen, while providing managers with real-time and reliable data to make informed decisions in a timely manner.

Designed in line with standards of the Project Management Institute (PMI), ProjeM aims to bring thousands of projects carried out across different units onto a single platform and establish a common working language throughout institutions. The homegrown and national decision-support system coordinates project, program, portfolio, budget and procurement processes of public institutions and large organizations under one roof.

Planned budgets and spending monitored simultaneously

ProjeM is expected to contribute to greater budget discipline and transparency in the use of public resources.

The system enables monitoring of processes aimed at ensuring that public investments, infrastructure projects and technological transformation initiatives are completed within planned budgets and on schedule.

The platform records advertising-based procurement, tender and supplier processes from end to end, enabling assessments to be conducted transparently, traceably and in a manner ready for auditing.

Planned budgets and actual spending can be monitored simultaneously through the platform, while potential budget overruns and delays can be identified at an early stage, helping protect public resources.

Reducing dependence on individuals in public institutions

Through ProjeM, senior management can access summary information on ongoing projects, budget utilization and critical risks from a single screen. The system aims to accelerate decision-making processes and establish a data-driven management culture instead of an approach based on estimates or individual discretion.

ProjeM also aims to reduce dependence on individuals within public institutions and ensure continuity in business processes.

The platform is designed to clarify duties and responsibilities and distribute workloads more evenly. Through the delegation of authority, it provides a structure intended to prevent disruptions to business processes during changes in personnel or management.

Actions taken, decisions made and lessons learned during project processes are digitally recorded, strengthening institutional memory.

ProjeM contributes to increasing the operational efficiency of institutions and enabling public investments to reach citizens faster, more transparently and with fewer errors.
