Global enthusiasm for the FIFA World Cup 2026 has reached record levels, with more than 500 million ticket requests submitted during the Random Selection Draw phase.

FIFA announced that applications were received from fans in all 211 countries and territories of its Member Associations over a 33-day period, setting a new benchmark in the history of world sport, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The United States, Mexico, and Canada led as host countries, while strong interest was also recorded from Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, and Colombia.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the level of interest as a powerful global message about the tournament’s significance. “Half a billion ticket requests in just over one month is more than demand — it is a global statement,” he said, adding that FIFA is working to create multiple fan experiences outside stadiums so that as many people as possible can be part of the event.

As reported by CE Report, FIFA confirmed that fans will be informed of their application results no earlier than February 5, and that tickets will be allocated through a fair random selection process wherever demand exceeds supply. Fans who are unsuccessful at this stage will have another opportunity during last-minute sales, with FIFA.com/tickets as the only official source for purchasing tickets for the 2026 World Cup.
