PSG fined 2.7 million euros over gender pay equality failures
The Administrative Court in Paris has upheld the €2.7 million fine imposed on Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for failing to meet gender equality targets, RMC Sport reported.
The violations concern the period from 2022 to 2024, CE Report quotes MIA.
The fine was imposed by the Île-de-France Labour Inspectorate in March 2024 and amounted to 0.5% of the club’s revenue in 2022.
According to the inspectorate, PSG recorded unsatisfactory results in the gender equality index for three consecutive years.
Specifically, the complaints concerned the ratio of men to women among the club’s ten highest-paid employees.
After three matches in Ligue 1, PSG have two points and sit 13th in the standings.
