Moldova-Armenia relations set to deepen after Strasbourg talks

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.

During the meeting, the two officials expressed interest in unlocking the potential of bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The ministers discussed opportunities to develop and diversify sectoral partnerships, with a focus on economic and investment cooperation.

“In Strasbourg, I had a constructive meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan. We discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Together with my Armenian counterpart, we agreed to organize, in the near future, a meeting of the Moldovan-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, which will boost cooperation between our countries,” Mihai Popșoi said.

Another important topic addressed was regional security challenges, including hybrid threats and disinformation, as well as the need to strengthen response capacities to these risks.

The Armenian foreign minister also invited Mihai Popșoi to pay a working visit to Yerevan in order to continue dialogue and further strengthen relations between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi is attending the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) from January 26 to 28, in his capacity as President of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. His agenda includes meetings with Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset and PACE President Petra Bayer.
