Victory over Nazism in World War II is a victory for peace, made possible by the courage and sacrifice of past generations and global unity against tyranny, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said during today’s commemoration of WWII victims, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

“We honor the memory of those who fell and thank the veterans still with us. Their sacrifice made our freedom possible,” Recean stated.

He emphasized that peace must be defended daily—with voice, vote, truth, and solidarity—and passed on to future generations. Moldova, he added, chooses to be part of a peaceful Europe that respects life and freedom.

To mark 80 years since the end of the war, Moldova’s Parliament adopted a law granting 30,000 lei in financial support to WWII veterans.
