Trump says time to address North Korea issue

Donald Trump now wants to focus his attention on North Korea, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung said today after meeting with his U.S. counterpart in France, CE Report quotes ANSA.

"President Trump said that the time has come to pay attention to the North Korean issue," Lee told reporters in Seoul, providing details of his meeting with Trump during the G7 summit.

Lee Jae-myung also said that he told Trump that the sanctions imposed on North Korea over its nuclear program are "ineffective."

"I told him that sanctions and pressure (against the North) are ineffective," Lee told journalists upon returning from France, where he met with Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian.
