Moldova Seeks Stronger EU Backing in Vilnius Talks

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov visited Vilnius on July 30–31 to discuss Moldova’s EU accession efforts and deepen ties with Lithuania, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

During meetings with members of the Lithuanian Seimas, including key figures from foreign and European affairs committees, Gherasimov outlined Moldova’s ongoing reforms in Chișinău aimed at advancing negotiations with the EU. She thanked Lithuanian lawmakers for their continued support.

Gherasimov also met with Lithuania’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigitas Mitkus to discuss regional security and EU enlargement.

The visit underscores Moldova’s push to secure broader political backing as it prepares for the next phase in its path toward EU membership.
