
Moldova, UN Deepen Cooperation on Reforms
The Government of Moldova and United Nations entities reviewed their joint progress in aligning international aid with Moldova’s national priorities during a recent high-level meeting, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Prime Minister Dorin Recean expressed gratitude for the UN’s continued support, particularly in advancing Moldova’s European integration and assisting Ukrainian refugees. “We ensure Ukrainians feel at home here, integrating them into society and the labor market,” Recean said.
UN Resident Coordinator Yesim Oruc highlighted that the UN’s work is increasingly aligned with Moldova’s reform agenda and EU accession goals.
The discussion covered achievements in sustainable development, including human rights, healthcare, environmental protection, and refugee inclusion. Key reforms noted were the RESTART initiative for modernizing social protection, energy support for over 790,000 families, and preparations for the 2024 census.
The meeting also emphasized Moldova’s Growth Plan, supported by the EU, as a roadmap for future development efforts.
