Donkeys Symbolize Stubbornness in Kosovo Political Deadlock Protest
Lawyer Arianit Koci is protesting again in front of the main entrance of the Kosovo Parliament building. This time, he has brought several donkeys to express his opposition to the institutional blockade, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
He said that these donkeys "symbolize stubbornness and obstinacy."
"The same people think that we are donkeys, however we will not stop protesting. The protest will be peaceful, I have the utmost respect for the police, I have announced the protest, this is my friend, he is an animal lover. Once again I apologize to the donkeys that I had to bring from Istog and was forced to scold the deputies a little... These [donkeys] symbolize stubbornness, stubbornness. Is there anything worse than meeting 41 times and not being able to form a parliament, there is none," he said.
After the Constitutional Court's verdict, Koci said he had determined who was "culpable for this political impasse."
"After the Constitutional Court's decision, I have determined who is guilty. Albin Kurti is guilty. He has created in public opinion what in the political game and espionage is called the game of double mirrors where no one believes anyone and the truth is only what the leader says. However, I do not want to be a factor that deepens divisions but I do want to be a factor of unity. I also have a big remark for the second, third, fourth party, PDK, LDK, Alliance and Initiative. They are behaving as if they were cowards, it almost seems that this is convenient for them with all the power they have in the electorate, not to take one person out to protest, this is unbelievable. It simply seems that they are also afraid of new elections, that someone could lose the parliament as a whole", he added.
The protest is being held shortly before the constitutive session resumes, which is the forty-first attempt to form the Assembly.
