Kosovo's Ferizaj hosts Balkan U17 Girls' Volleyball Championship

Ferizaj is becoming the center of Balkan volleyball today as the Balkan U17 Girls' Volleyball Championship gets underway at the Bill Clinton Sports Hall, where the tournament will run through July 25.

Organized by the Volleyball Federation of Kosovo with the support of the Balkan Volleyball Association, the championship features six national teams: Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Montenegro, and Moldova, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Kosovo's U17 national team enters the tournament after an intensive preparation period, including training camps and practice sessions in Skenderaj, as well as friendly matches, with the aim of delivering a strong performance in front of the home crowd.

The opening day's matches begin at 3:00 p.m. with Türkiye facing Moldova, followed by Bulgaria against Albania at 5:30 p.m. The most anticipated match of the day is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., when host nation Kosovo takes on Montenegro.

Over the five-day tournament, Kosovo will play five matches. After today's game against Montenegro, the team will face Türkiye on July 22, Bulgaria on July 23, Albania on July 24, and Moldova on July 25.

The Volleyball Federation of Kosovo welcomed all participating national teams, delegates, referees, and guests, expressing confidence that the championship will be held in a spirit of sportsmanship, featuring high-quality matches and respect for the principles of fair play.
