Pierpaolo Piccioli leaves creative director role at Balenciaga
Pierpaolo Piccioli is stepping down as creative director of Balenciaga, the luxury fashion house owned by Kering, which is expected to announce his successor shortly.
His departure comes just one month after Anthony Vaccarello's exit from Yves Saint Laurent, another brand belonging to the French luxury group, CE Report quotes ANSA.
"Pierpaolo is an exceptional designer and a creative talent for whom we have the utmost respect," said Luca de Meo, Kering's CEO.
"Our ambition is to build on Balenciaga's avant-garde spirit, honour its extraordinary heritage and continue pushing the boundaries of creativity, further strengthening the Maison as a powerful and relevant voice," he added.
"We are deeply grateful to Pierpaolo for his contribution to Balenciaga. Through his vision, he reaffirmed the Maison's couture origins, bringing his thoughtful approach to craftsmanship, construction and creativity," said Gianfranco Gianangeli, Balenciaga's chairman and CEO.
"I would like to sincerely thank him for his dedication, generosity and collaboration," he added.
