Kosovo to restrict heavy truck traffic amid heat

Kosovo's Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has announced that, based on the official weather forecast for tomorrow, a temporary traffic restriction will be imposed on heavy goods vehicles with a total weight exceeding 20 tonnes.

According to the ministry, the restriction will apply on highways from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., as forecast temperatures are expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius or higher, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Traffic on national, regional, and connecting roads will continue without restrictions.

The ministry noted that the measure does not apply to vehicles used by law enforcement and public security authorities, emergency services, or healthcare institutions.

Authorities urged transport operators and drivers to comply with the temporary restriction and plan their journeys in accordance with the designated schedule.
