Italy sees sharp decline in cities under maximum heat alert
The number of Italian cities under red alerts due to the risk of a heat wave is decreasing.
According to the latest data published by the Ministry of Health, six cities are currently under the highest alert level because of the potential effects of extreme heat on the general population, CE Report quotes ANSA.
On August 15, only Bolzano and Bari will remain in the red zone. By Sunday, August 16, only the Apulian capital Bari will remain under a red alert.
The decline is significant, considering that on August 6, all 27 major urban centers monitored by the authorities were under a red heat alert.
