According to the diplomatic mission, the screenings attracted strong interest from the local audience.

The Bulgarian Ambassador in Islamabad Irena Gancheva attended the festival, addressing the viewers and speaking about the importance of cinema as a space for encounters and a bridge between cultures.

“Special attention was given to the important themes and messages of the two Bulgarian films, namely that behind every social challenge stands a human story deserving empathy and understanding, and that our ethical, personal and societal choices shape the environment in which we live. This is why responsible attitudes and the courage to make the right decisions are of key significance,” the Embassy’s team noted.

The European Film Festival was organized by the EU Delegation to Pakistan with the support of the embassies of EU Member States.

The fourth edition took place between 7 and 23 November 2025 and covered the three major cities of Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
