Hollywood legend Robert De Niro has confirmed his participation in a film that will be shot partly in Kosovo, with a theme based on the events of the war and the Racak massacre.

“This film is a way to tell our story, the pain and strength of my people,” said producer Fitim Krasniqi.

The famous American actor is expected to star in a project that aims to bring the history of Kosovo to the international cinema scene. Kosovar producer Fitim Krasniqi gave the news by himself, CE Report quotes ATA.

He said that the film is inspired by his father’s life and the true events of the Racak massacre.

According to Krasniqi, Robert De Niro will portray the role of his father, while the cast is expected to include well-known international actors.

The shooting of the film is expected to take place partially in Kosovo and they are set to begin in 2026. There have been many positive reactions to this project because for the first time a figure of this level from Hollywood will be involved in a film that is directly related to the history of Kosovo.

If realized according to plan, the film is expected to serve as a new cultural bridge between Kosovo and the world, bringing to attention the history, emotions and resilience of our people.
